Procedur Taking Visiting Visa

A Kuwait visit visa must be sponsored by a Kuwait company or by a relative that is a resident foreigner staying in the country. Before travelling to Kuwait, a visitor can have his visa processed and passport stamped to a Kuwait embassy. A Kuwait sponsor can use a faxed copy of the visitor’s passport to obtain the visit visa in Kuwait. The visa copy can be faxed to the visitor to enable him to travel to Kuwait. They can then meet at the airport with the original visa upon entering the country. There is a special counter in the arrival hall where the sponsor can deposit the visa papers. The visitor must pick up his original documents at a similar special counter inside the immigration area. The original documents are required to complete entry formalities. It takes approximately 2 working days to obtain a visit visa. Hotels can arrange visit visas for business and it takes around 7 days. Rules 1. A person on visit visa is not entitled to employment. If caught, he/she will be deported and blacklisted 2. Commercial visit visa can be transferred to work visa (Article 18), within the same company 3. Copies of all official documents have to be submitted at typing center for paper works 4. Eligible to apply for direct relatives such as parents, siblings, spouse, children, and in-laws 5. Minimum salary of sponsor KD 200 6. Stay is valid for 90 days after entry, otherwise penalty of KD 10 per day 7. Visa is valid for 90 days before entry, otherwise automatically canceled 8. Visa can be transferred to dependent visa (Article 22) for children 9. Visa cannot be transferred to other type of visa Documents 1. Application form: Signed and KD 3 stamp 2. Applications have to be submitted at the immigration dept in your area at 7 am - 12 pm 3. Civil ID: Original & copy 4. House rent contract: Original and copy. 5. Marriage affidavit: Original and copy for spouse.  6. Passport: Copies of applicant and visitor 7. Relationship affidavit: Original & copy for others. 8. Shoon paper: Original & copy Notes 1. If you do not have the house rent contract in your name, it can be sorted out with the manager of the immigration dept. 2. Marriage certificates have to be attested by the home dept in your state secratariat. Then only you can apply for affidavit. Contact travel agent in your home town. 3. MOFA, beside KUNA Shuwaikh: 8 am - 12 pm. MOFA, Liberation Tower: 4 pm - 6 pm 4. Original affidavits have to be attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), with KD 5 stamp on the back. 5. Spouse's name need not be in applicant's passport for visa purposes. 6. When applying for any member of your family (not spouse) you have to submit marriage affidavit and spouse's official documents. If single, this can be sorted with the manager of the immigration dept. 7. If traveling first time to Kuwait, better to send original visa, copy of affidavit and copy of your passport to avoid hassles at Indian airports 8. Commercial visit visa can be extended upon discretion of company. Family visit visa is for 3 months only
